Web and advertising copy for a large translations company

After achieving considerable international growth, Barcelona-based languages company CPSL needed a new website that would sell their high quality services to corporate clients.
I produced almost all copy for the website project (around 35 pages), which dealt with complex topics and technologies, plus advertising copy and web banner slogans. I'm currently working with CPSL on industry-specific marketing materials.

Annual report writing for a large Scottish social care charity
"Our services are broad and diverse, but Quarriers' stance on our service users' rights is starkly defined - people we support are citizens of the community and are entitled to the same opportunities as anybody else."
Based on interviews with their staff and service users, I wrote case study-based annual reports for Quarriers in 2008 and 2009. Both were designed to influence funders and communicate what the charity does in an interesting way.
Quarriers' Head of Communications Carol Eden said: "Working with Neil is a pleasure. He took the time to grasp what was required for a large project and responded quickly with well-written copy... He's made such a difference to our capacity."

Web and magazine promotion for high-end luxury apartments

I've been fortunate enough to write about Corum's luxury properties several times and on this occasion, I was able to visit the site in person and be inspired by a truly fantastic building.
The client's aim was to step away from the usual language of estate agency and let the development's real character show. Not unlike a movie teaser, the campaign's light but sensual copy left potential buyers wanting more, prompting them to arrange a viewing.

My work for this excellent Bath-based web marketing agency proves you don't need to be in the same town to strike up a great working relationship. I've written lots of copy for them - including their own website, press releases that got results both in print and online, and a radio ad.
The way I see it, partnering up with other great companies is one of the best things about being in business. The longer I work with a company, the more effectively I can sell what they do.

I enjoy working with small businesses and new start-ups. They have real enthusiasm and passion, and it's easy to measure the results of the advertising campaign produced.
This small newspaper ad generated many sales and enquiries for Love2Sell. I produced the concept, copy and graphic design for the ad, which reminds me of the other reason I like to work with small businesses: it occasionally gives me a chance to break out the pencils!

Annual Report Writing for South Yorkshire Voluntary Sector Coordinator

For the past three years I've written VAR's annual report, based on telephone interviews with their staff and with organisations they help.
VAR's role is to support the voluntary sector in Rotherham and their annual report exists to tell the public and local authorities about their achievements. My contribution to the report makes VAR's management of the project easier and less time-consuming, while also delivering accessible, high quality writing.
