Photos from beautiful Mauritius

I’m back after a great week off and ready to go — I even started the gym this morning!

Here are a few pics from my holiday in Mauritius, just to show off and keep this blog rolling.

This is what I did most days.

We stayed at the Preskil Beach Resort on the south east of Mauritius, where the main activities were lazing around on the beach, eating and drinking. That was my take on it anyway.

This was the view from our balcony.

It’s a bit windy on the south east, and we had our share of cloud (plus a bit of rain) too. Amazing view to wake up to though!

The sea was as blue as those travel brochure photos.

I’ve always wanted to go somewhere tropical like Mauritius. It was the blueness of the ocean that really wowed me — it’s a world away from the North Sea! Now I’m lucky enough to have swam in it, and it’s just as clear and warm and colourful as it looks in photos!

The Mauritius mainland is really beautiful too.

We took a day trip to the south west of the island, stopping at the Black River Gorges National Park, the coloured sands of Chamarel and a few other places. It felt like we were in an Indiana Jones movie at times, which is no bad thing in my book.

It wasn’t all sunshine.

Mauritius isn’t like southern Spain or Texas, where you can pretty much bank on sunny weather. It’s a lush, tropical island and it rained fairly often when were there. Still, it was very pretty in the mist!

We saw wild monkeys.

This was at the Hindu temple. It was a first for me, along with being south of the equator and visiting Africa.

So this was just a few highlights from my holiday. If you need any help from a highly refreshed and well-travelled copywriter, get in touch!
